The artwork and photographs above were created by myself and and sister Sandy.  We did the waterfalls together (mostly Sandy with my direction) all of the other ones were done by myself, but Sandy has experimented and did a copy of the others for herself.
Waterfalls has been a theme because of our estranged relationship and the tears that have either been totally blocked or falling uncontrolibly.
The cake art pieces/photos represent the conversations  we had while she made the cake for me (this has been a favorite cake of mine since I was a child).  Sandy has a major love of cooking and this was her way of taking care of me or telling me that she loves me and misses me.
The Tea was her way of taking care of me because medication was not agreeing with me, so we got in a habit of same time of day stopping whatever we were doing to have a cup of tea.
In this time that we spent together we really discussed the time that have we have lost over the years we both realized the both of our nightmares (of drowning) has stopped since we have spent time together.
The recipe was written by both of us realizing that we needed this time to heal and start new.

Dye resist wax style with embroidery and sewing.

Healing During Stitching Time 40 X 20
Used medal  plates (like the ones inside of me) and pins to hold it together.
This piece took me longer than any other art I have ever done before.  The embroidery was what took so long, but I really felt that I needed this time for not only healing but reflection as well.
